Chee Chan Golf Resort is one of the newest golf developments in Pattaya, Thailand. Conveniently connected between Bangkok and Pattaya, Chee Chan is easily accessible from Bangkok Airport and you can reach the resort in just a few hours.

Opened in 2018, Chee Chan is an 18-hole golf course designed by David Dale of Golf Plan. For those who think they've heard of Chee Chan before, it's probably because the Khao Chee Chan Buddha statue is carved into the face of the mountain, and this golf course sits right under that giant Buddha statue.

It is a stunning setting for a golf course, and when you play on the course, you will not only have a great view of the Buddha, but also a breathtaking view of Pattaya and Jomtien. Each hole at Chee Chan has multiple tees to choose from, allowing you to set the level of difficulty to your liking.

From 6,527 yards to 7,345 yards, Chee Chan provides a distance challenge for players of all abilities.


 

Unlike many other golf courses in Pattaya, Chee Chan is relatively flat but has many undulating, undulating fairways and well-defined greens. It's more of a links course than any other golf course, making it a great alternative to some of the other golf courses in this part of Thailand.

David Dale, designer of Chee Chan Golf Course, was keen to create a course that would stand out from other courses in Pattaya for the high quality and condition of the playing surface. "We built the fairways so they don't have the traditional roughing," Dale said before continuing, "The target is firm and fast, with a lot of gathering around the greens and landing areas."



That certainly points to a links-style golf course, one that will entice players to pull the longest club out of their pocket on the tee. In fact, many par 4 holes are long and uphill, but if you manage to find the middle of the fairway, on firm and fast ground, you can count on a good roll.


It's hard to pick a standout hole from such a wide range, but the par 4 and par 17 par 3 are probably two of the most memorable. Both have water, the large double green on the 4th is protected by water on the left, while the 17th requires a water tee with a large bunker behind the green.

Chee Chan's facilities include changing rooms, View Restaurant serving Thai, European and Chinese cuisine, putting green, driving range, putting green and pro shop.
