When you play Kirimaya Golf Resort & Spa in Khao Yai, you will find that designer Jack Nicklaus has really done a good job in designing this stunning golf course and we highly recommend him. Frequently voted one of the best golf clubs in Khao Yai, featuring Asia's finest Nicklaus design, Kirimaya Golf Resort & Spa is an oasis of tranquility nestled in the lush tropical jungle of Khao Yai National Park.
The lush vegetation makes you feel completely secluded and engrossed in a round of golf that requires you to drive through hilly terrain while trying to carve your way through what at first glance looks like a rather daunting course. With an emphasis on making the most of the natural setting, you'll find natural wetlands encroaching on the fairways, and small ponds and lakes waiting to devour loose balls. The dense jungle surrounding many of the holes isn't technically out of bounds, but it could be because you won't find your ball there.
We don't want to make this course sound harder than it is - even high handicap players should be able to score reasonable points, and shots that look daunting off the tee can often look intimidating if you take your caddy's advice. Negotiation is easy. The iconic par 4 16th is right there and has the best hole ever designed by Nicklaus: as it winds its way through a large tree to the water-protected green, it's easy to forget you're here Mainly for golf, not for the view.
The standout hole is probably the par-5 3rd, where you must avoid water on the left before attempting to reach a tiny green which sits behind a strategically positioned lily-pond. With holes cleverly bordered by trees or shrubs, you rarely get a glimpse of holes to come before you get there and it is easy to get the impression that you are the only ones on the course, and since the course is rarely that busy anyway you should be able to get round in good time. Warm hospitality, good caddies and excellent clubhouse facilities add to the overall experience, and you can even stay overnight in the 5-star resort which includes deluxe tented accommodation (much better than it sounds!).
