Just a few minutes drive from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, you will find Pak Rangsit Golf Club.

The 6,793-yard course is a mid-length par 72 that will keep golfers busy throughout 18 holes.

A key feature of a golf course is the abundance of water hazards on each hole, which requires golfers to navigate the many hazards with accuracy and discretion.

Designed to please the eye and capture the golfer's imagination, Northern Rangsit is definitely worth a visit.



Each hole presents a different challenge, and some can be played in a number of ways depending on the golfer's aggressiveness, but anything too aggressive or off-line carries severe penalties.

From the back, a par 5 is pretty much all three par 5s, except for really long golfers who can match a pair.

Every par 5 requires a lot of thought and a good layup to leave chances for par and the occasional birdie, as they are often more challenging than some other holes.

One of the standout holes and a true test of skill, the 9th hole is a potential card breaker. At 402 yards from the back tee, finding the fairway is critical to giving yourself a chance at par. But the danger doesn't end after the tee, and approaching the narrow green is a real test of skill. If you hit the right side you'll be lucky and stay dry, if you hit the left you'd better find a bunker between the green and the water.
The par 3 holes are all of medium length, with the standout par 3 hole being No. 7. Accuracy 164 yards, good club choice, finding this green surrounded by water on three sides is key, but the 11th hole is also close, shorter but just as much hazard. Huge wishbone bunkers protect the front of the green, with water surrounding the rest, showcasing club choice and accuracy.



But you'll have to wait until the 18th to find the real gem at Northern Rangsit Golf Club. It's a short par 4 but you have to show your face. Your layup position is critical to giving you the best chance of finding that little round island green.

The modern clubhouse has locker rooms overlooking a traditional Japanese garden, while the well-stocked pro shop offers the general range of golf products. The restaurant serves traditional Thai cuisine in a traditional ambience and luxurious ambiance.

The practice facility is great with a driving range, practice chips and putting green.
