Patavia Century Golf Club is 1.5 hours' drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok. From Pattaya, take Highway 331 towards Rayong and pass through the pineapple garden. It only takes 50 minutes by car. American golf architect Robert McFarland originally designed the Pattaya Golf Course in 1996 under the name Century. Most recently, in 2014, Pattavia was renamed, refurbished, lengthened and upgraded to modern standards. It can now reach over 7,100 yards from the club end.



The rolling hills covered in the jungle of Thailand's countryside make for an outstanding golf course. Patavia's golf course runs through jungle and undulating natural canyons. In general, well-maintained fairways, greens and bunkers characterize playing conditions. The course features small greens and is Patavia's biggest challenge. Mainly the fore and aft slope, so the approach position is best for the slope push.

Each of the 9 holes has a shorter par 3 and a more challenging par 3. Par 4 holes offer a variety of distances and require different approaches. It's worth noting that the green on the 16th hole is wide and flat, often requiring a long walk to reach. The par 5 hole offers plenty of room to play a par 3 while still offering long hitters a chance to hit the green in two.



There are many dogleg holes, including some of the best holes on the golf course. The 18th hole is the signature hole, except for having to avoid the water and hitting the green with precision fairway woods, the green slopes steeply from left to right. A par is as good as it gets here. Otherwise, take a bogey and call it a day. It could have been worse.

Cadies are well trained but no English is spoken and the small clubhouse is adequate for most golfers. Golf carts are optional and Pattavia is an alternative to the better known Pattaya Golf Course.
