Khao Yai golf courses

Rancho Charnvee Resort and Country Club

D Varee Charvee Golf Course, formerly known as Rancho Charnvee, is an 18-hole layout in Khao Yai National Park, about two hours from Bangkok. It's a fairly flat course that will interest better golfers, while those with a higher handicap won't find it too intimidating. The scenery and views are great and you can have a great time even if you don't play well!

Tee shots are difficult off the water, while strategically placed bunkers block access to the fairways. The green offers a fairly small target and is protected by bunkers on both sides. The second is a dogleg par 5 with a large lake to the left, a narrow landing on the second par and well protected by two large bunkers on either side of the green. Another dogleg on hole 3 - this time curving to the right with a large garbage bunker to the left and two huge bunkers on either side of the green. Hole 4 is a very long par 3 with bunkers to the right and back, so it's best to aim left. The 5th hole is almost a duplicate of the 2nd hole - a dogleg on the left side of the par 5, but with a large fairway bunker protecting the tiger line. There are plenty of bunkers on the par 4.6, but avoid them if you aim left of the fairway - two huge bunkers are to the left of the green and one to the right. Hole 7 is a short par 3 with a water hazard to the right of the green and two bunkers to the left - not much room for error here. Hole 8 is a very interesting hole - a large water hazard and two large fairway bunkers to the left of the tee, out of reach of all but the biggest hitters, and then between the other two bunkers There is a narrow passage leading to the green. The only problem on hole 9 was finding the fairway to the tee and avoiding two fairway bunkers, then the green became very open.

The 10th hole has water hazards on both sides, a creek running through the fairway and about 100 yards from the green with bunkers on both sides. The par 4 tee on the 11th hole has water running almost to the green to the left of the fairway - a large bunker awaits the tee shot and three large bunkers protect the green. The 12th hole is a brutal 5th section with 9 bunkers blocking your path - 5 on each side of the fairway and 3 more around the green. The equally difficult 3rd hole is not only very long, but there are 4 large bunkers around the green, so the correct choice of clubs is very important. Hole 14 is another typical par 5 on this course, with fairway bunkers on both sides and a large bunker in front of the green. Breathe a sigh of relief on hole 15, an easy par 4 with an E-Aide landing and if you can play to the left of the fairway, the green is open.
The main problem with the 16ht par 4 is the approach to the green, with the watertight side on the left and the bunkers on the right - I don't want to land there as it is very difficult to hit the bunkers directly on the barrier. The 17th hole is a medium length par 3 with two huge bunkers around the green - lots of room in the back so you can fit a lot of clubs. A rideable par 4 finish but with water on the right side of the fairway and the greens are well protected, you need to be brave to try this.

The clubhouse overlooks a small pond, there is no driving range, but other facilities are good, and the restaurant serves delicious local food
