Riverdale Golf Club was designed by local architect John Morrow, who also designed Phuket's Red Hill and was instrumental in designing Riverdale Golf Club, which will surely become a "must play" golf course in Bangkok once he reaches full maturity one. The scenery in and around Bangkok is rather drab, so most Bangkok golf courses are usually fairly flat, but Riverdale Golf Club has undulating courses that require you to hit valley-like fairways from elevated tees. The designer cleverly used the natural grass and fallow land around many holes, and left some wetlands to create habitats for local wildlife.

There are four different men's tees to choose from on the course, so most players will be able to find one that suits their handicap. The course requires you to play very strategically, with the designers constantly challenging and enticing you with their risk and reward opportunities.

The course is slightly spoiled by the ugly setting, with factories next to the course and large utility poles criss-crossing it.



The front nine has three very exciting holes to complete your round, starting with the medium length 7th, a dogleg par 4 with a blind tee, and then a fairly small and well protected Difficult approach shots on the greens. Next up is the 8th hole, also the signature hole, a very unusual par 3 that unusually offers a choice of two greens. One is an island green and the other requires more distance and is protected from runoff and bunkers. Hole No. 9 has a lake protecting the right side of the fairway and several bunkers on both sides of the green.

Riverdale Golf Club has a modern and contemporary clubhouse and a very good restaurant serving excellent Thai, Chinese, European and Japanese cuisine.

When visiting other parts of Thailand, this is a very conveniently located course, very close to the Dom Mueang domestic airport.
