The course is near the mouth of the Bangpakong River and many of the holes run along the water, with most of the course surrounded by a large lake that you will encounter along the way. Being so close to the sea, you can often enjoy the cool sea breeze which, when refreshing, can make club selection even more difficult. The greens are very difficult with lots of bumps and dips and they are also very fast.

The fairways are fairly wide and forgiving, and they tend to make the rough manageable. Many of the fairways are lined with sizable hills close to the greens. Another feature of the site is the many garbage bunkers

The clubhouse and facilities are first-class, the service complements each other, and the air-conditioned restaurant and outdoor terrace serve delicious food. The course is very popular with the Japanese and locals who often block the course with 5 or 6 balls which can result in a very slow round.



The Royal Lakeside Golf Club just outside of Chonburi is a true hidden gem and possibly one of the best golf courses on Thailand's east coast. It's about an hour's drive from Pattaya and about the same distance from Bangkok, so it's a great place to hang out after landing or on your way back to the airport from Pattaya. It must have been beautiful when it first opened, although the square is still attractive it has been spoiled by the surrounding industrial area.
