Silky Oak Country Club

The Silky Oak Country Club is a new addition to the St. Andrews 2000 family, named after the trees that line most of the fairways. A good resort class, great for higher handicap and great value.

Silky Oak Country Club is a standard par 72 layout in a beautiful setting, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains from much of the course, especially from the heights of the halfway house. The course has wide fairways that can accommodate anything but very wild tees, but you'll encounter some uneven lies and the area around the smaller greens is full of bumps and dips that will really test you short ball.

Quite a few holes have water washed off the tees or close to the greens, but other than that and the occasional basin bunker there isn't much to stop you from going as the trees don't really play a role.

The clubhouse and other facilities are ok, but nothing special, including a Japanese restaurant and a range of other Asian and Western cuisines. Other facilities include a swimming pool, karaoke rooms and massage services. Note that it takes at least 10 minutes to drive to the first tee, so don't be late to the clubhouse.
