Springfield Royal Country Club is one of our favorite golf courses in Hua Hin. A little further out of town than some of the other golf courses, but easily accessible within 30 minutes. As you'd expect from a course designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, there are plenty of traps in the form of bunkers and water hazards, strategically placed to catch fades or clip tees.




Springfield Royal Country Club is a very mature course, some holes are wide open, almost tie-ins, others meander among mature trees and native vegetation. The owners have taken care to implement a design approach that not only preserves but enhances natural wildlife. So when you walk around the square, you will find more than 100 species of birds.

Springfield added another 9 holes in 2005, designed by renowned golf course architects Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley. These nine holes are quite different from the original layout designed by Nicklaus 18 and may be more challenging than the original course.

There are five tees to choose from, making the course suitable for players of all skill levels. If you enjoy the challenge of playing from the back tees, then get ready for some long shots off the tee and close to the lush greens.

After a relatively easy start, you're faced with a long-distance attack, and then you realize that if you want to score well, you have to stay awake. Many greens are protected by bunkers, making some hole positions difficult to attack. Our favorite hole is the 18th, it's actually a relatively short par 5, but you need to tee off between the trees and find your spot on the narrow fairway to have a chance Middle island greens.

Off the course, Springfield Royal offers great facilities. The clubhouse is on an elevated position with partial views of the court. Top-notch locker rooms, a well-stocked pro shop and a great selection of food and beverages all add to the fun of playing in Springfield.
