Bangkok golf courses

The Vintage Club

Vintage Club is not as well known as some of the other golf courses in Bangkok and is a bit further out than some, but is easily accessible via one of the main highways. The Vintage Club hosts several PGA events that are worth a visit, especially on weekdays when the course is usually empty.

A fairly classic layout that takes advantage of the natural contours of the area and the many water features at play throughout the 13 holes, but is ideal for high handicappers and will provide enough challenge for better golfers.

A fairly easy start followed by a short par 3 which offers birdie opportunities, but club selection can be a challenge when the wind blows. Most of the front 9 holes require precision shots to avoid the water or the many mature trees that line the fairway. The par 3 8th hole requires access to a well protected green as it slopes away from you making it difficult to hold. The fourth hole is a long par 5, but good golfers have the opportunity to climb it in two holes if you can avoid the water that runs off the tee to the right. For most golfers, the second ball is played near the fairway bunker and chipped easily on the green. The next hole is a short par 4, the water runs off the right hand side of the tee onto the green, you have to flirt to find the best angle to approach the bunker green, and it's easy to hit if the club is wrong Entering a water hazard. The final hole on the front 9th is a beautiful par 4 that requires the tee shot across the creek to get into the sweet spot between the bunker on the left and the water on the right.

The view of the wide fairway from the 12th tee will entice big hitters to give it a try, and if you find the middle ground, chances are you'll be hauled away. Not much of a problem if you miss the greens here, so definitely worth the risk if you have the distance. Fifteenth will also lure you into dogleg turns, but anything really wild will find the creek

The 11th hole is a challenging par 3 with a green guarded by water and flanked by bunkers. The stretch from hole 12 to hole 15 requires all the accuracy on the tee in order to avoid the water and find the sweet spot for your attack. Hole 18 puts a perfect end to your round as a bunker on the left and a waterfall on the right come into play

The recently refurbished Tudor-style clubhouse offers spacious changing rooms, massage services and a clubhouse restaurant specializing in Japanese cuisine.
