Uniland Golf Country Club

Uniland Golf and Country Club was designed by O-Art Architects Ltd and opened in late 1996 in the Nakhon Pathom area of Bangkok, Thailand. There are plenty of sightseeing spots in the area for tourists to visit, including Sanam Chandra Palace, Buddha Monthon, and Lamphaya Float Market, but one of the main attractions is the golf course. Uniland Golf and Country Club is a 27-hole golf course divided into three different nine-hole courses.

As of this writing, the three golf courses do not yet have names and are referred to as Course A, Course B and Course C. That doesn't mean they aren't different, as each set of nine holes offers a different challenge.

Course A has many trees of different sizes and the fairways are well maintained with water hazards. Perhaps the hole choice is the par 4 seventh, which is 336 yards long and includes a 180-yard over-the-lake and blind putt. Yes, the pin is visible, but the green is not, making this hole a real test.

Route B has more water and lots of left and right doglegs to contend with. The eighth hole is a 641-yard par 5, easily one of, if not the longest hole in Thailand. This is considered the flagship of Uniland Golf and Country Club.

Finally, Course C offers slightly hilly terrain that also has trees and sand traps throughout the course. The greens are undulating, and approach shots must be precise, or the ball will easily roll away and force the putt to remain in the pocket. Possibly the toughest on Course C, the third hole is a par 4 with water and bunkers on either side of the fairway and a raised green up for grabs.

Uniland Golf and Country Club has a fantastic setting with lush vegetation, trees and streams throughout the course. The green speed is very fast, which is the main selling point of the golf club, and in their own words, the green speed is as smooth as glass.

There is a large, beautifully designed clubhouse and modern changing rooms that can accommodate over 400 people, but bookings for this course are still recommended.

A 45-minute drive from Bangkok, Uniland Golf and Country Club is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and play a round of golf. At 27 holes, you could easily spend a full day on the golf course and then return to the clubhouse before heading back to Bangkok. It is also possible to stay overnight at the resort, making Uniland Golf and Country Club a very good choice.
